Bowls of Hope
The Sarasota Bowls of Hope
Lunch is an annual community event benefiting the
All
Faiths Food Bank. It is held shortly before Thanksgiving each year.
In 2011 it will be held Nov. 6 at Phillippi Estate Park, 5500 S. Tamiami
Trail, Sarasota
11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Through the efforts of local potters and restaurants, this
event has raised more than $200,000 in the past ten years to aid the area's
hungry.
Each guest
selects from a gourmet buffet of savory soups and delicious breads
donated by Sarasota's finest restaurants and businesses. As well as
hospitals and senior housing complexes. Each person receives a handmade
bowl and three servings of delicious soups, chowders or bisques as well
as coffee, soft drinks and a choice of breads and desserts. Thanks to
all the great folks who volunteer their time for the event.
